A House of Representatives aspirant for Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Kwara state Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, has urged the leadership of the party in his constituency to embark on mass mobilization and woo aggrieved individuals back into the party.
He said the success of the PDP in the forthcoming general elections was crucial for effective and efficient representation at all levels of governance.
Ajia spoke in Ilorin during an iftar (breaking of fast) he hosted in honour of 17 Wards PDP Chairmen of Asa Local Government led by the local government Chairman of the party, Alhaji Raheem Oredunni.
He also had similar breaking of fast with the 12 PDP Wards Chairmen in Ilorin West led by the Chairman of the forum, who is also the Chairman of Baboko Ward, Mr Kayode Yakub.
Ajia, a governorship aspirant of the party in 2019, enjoined the ward party leaders to persuade those who left the PDP on account of some grievances to return, assuring that their problems would be addressed.
The House of Representatives hopeful pleaded with the aggrieved members to sheath their swords and work for the success of the party, maintaining that the opposition party cannot afford to fail in the coming polls.
He solicited the support of the ward chairmen for his ambition, promising to leverage on his relationship and vast network to attract development to the Constituency.
“We have a major task before us as a party and we cannot afford to fail our constituents, who are yearning for responsible representation. It is crucial that we take advantage of the forthcoming general elections to win the confidence of our people back and give them better representation.
“I appeal to you to see genuineness in our aspiration. Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency deserves more than this passive representation that we have at the moment, and you can be rest assured that you will not be disappointed when you stand firmly behind us”, the House of Representatives aspirant said.
Ajia also met with Hajia Asiata Ayinke Saka-led Ilorin West PDP Women Stakeholders forum and that of Asa led by Hajia Kehinde Bale. He solicited their unalloyed support to realize his ambition ahead of the consensus/primary election of the party.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Ajia Ibrahim (MAI) Foundation has distributed food items to wards in Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency in commemoration of Ramadan fast.
The Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Ajia, said the gesture was in continuation of the annual intervention of the foundation and to serve as relief for Muslim faithful during the holy month.
