The Young Progressives Party (YPP) Governorship Candidate in 2023 general elections in Kwara State, Waziri Yakubu Gobir, alongside his running mate, Hon. Bolujoko George, on Wednesday met stakeholders and party trustees in Moro Local Government area.
Gobir while speaking during his stop at Ejidongari/Lanwa Axis, stated that farming remains an essential economic activity in Moro as the area is known for cultivating several crops such as cassava and varieties of fruits.
According to him, “Moro Local Government is also a hub for the rearing and sales of several domestic animals such as cows and sheep. Trade also flourishes in Moro LGA, hosting several markets where different commodities are sold. But despite all the potentials in the local government, bad road networks are turning Moro into a jungle of wasted economic opportunities.”
“I plied through the Oke-Oyi route to Lanwa and then to Eleja while coming, and I can say in all honesty that Moro needs good road networks to activate the potential for the development of the local government. By God’s grace, when we get in to the office, we will fix the Oke-Oyi to Lanwa to Eleja and Bode-Saadu expressway,” he added.
He, however sought support for himself and all YPP Candidates in Moro to ease the actualisation of his plans and agenda for Moro Local Government. “I need your support to get to the office because no matter how we are aware of challenges and with ideas to salvage them, if we aren’t elected to the office, we can’t execute them.”
The Madawaki of Ilorin had earlier paid homage to the palace of Magaji of Lanwa, Alhaji Soliu Atanda Adenlolu, Daudu and Baale of Bode-Saadu, Alhaji Aliu Olarongbe, and Barr. G.S Bolakale Yusuf, respectively.
Gobir and his Deputy Governorship Candidate, Bolujoko, met stakeholders and party faithfuls in Jebba community.
They also paid homage to the palace of Oba of Jebba, HRH Oba AbdulKadir Alabi Adebara, to seek his blessings and keep the traditional ruler informed about Gobir’s agenda for Kwarans.
