The Young Progressives Party (YPP) and its Kwara state governorship candidate, Alhaji Yakubu Gobir have continued to enjoy large acceptance among residents in Kwara state with the Okekere community in Ilorin West local government standing still as party faithful and supporters trooped out to attend solidarity rally.

The mammoth crowd welcomed Waziri Yakubu Gobir to the presumed stronghold of the New Nigeria Peoples Party governorship candidate, Professor Oba AbdulRaheem, and the traditional base of PDP.

The ever-busy Okekere road was almost shut down as people trooped to the streets in support of Gobir’s Governorship ambition.

According to the organizer of the solidarity rally, Mr. Abula who is a staunch supporter of Waziri Gobir, the Okekere community, and its environs are fully prepared to vote massively for YPP in forthcoming general elections.

The YPP Gubernatorial Candidate represented by his running mate, Honourable Bolujoko George appreciated the people for turning out en masse to welcome the campaign trail, urging them to shun the enemies of the masses who have nothing to offer but deceit.

He said; “I believe Kwarans for the past 3 years have known the difference between the true lover of the masses and the pretenders. Kwarans have been deprived of good governance which the YPP Guber Candidate, Waziri Gobir is coming to salvage. Kwara is known as the State of harmony but poverty and bad governance have been major barriers to enjoying harmony. I can assure you that if Waziri Gobir is elected as the state’s Governor, everyone will enjoy the dividends of democracy.”
