A total of 507 communities in Kwara State will benefit from the federal government’s COVID-19 rapid response scheme.
The Head of Operations Coordinating Unit of
the National Social Safety-nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO)in the state, Taiye Iliasu, who disclosed this said NASSCO has concluded its sensitization programme on COVID-19 Rapid Response Register (RRR) in the state .
Iliasu spoke in Kosuboso, the headquarters of Baruten local government area of the state at the end of NASSCO sensitization programme in the area
He said NASSCO will soon begin the registration of beneficiaries through short messaging service (SMS) and USSD code.
He added that the process of registering for the project will involve deployment of unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) code and broadcasting of short messaging service (SMS) to cell-phones in all eligible communities.
He stated that the State Operations Coordinating Unit of NASSCO has deployed sensitization strategies designed to educate and create awareness across the 507 communities eligible for the project in the state to enhance their participation .
Iliasu expressed confidence that the exercise will be successful in the state as the target groups have been sensitized and fully aware of the process and purpose of the project and ready to take advantage of the federal government’s gesture aimed at cushioning the economic impact of COVID -19 on the target groups.
