The National Industrial Court has adjourned the suit filed by the Federal Government, challenging the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to the 19th of September for a hearing of the interlocutory application filed by the Federal Government.

During the Court Session on Friday, Counsel to the Claimant, the Federal Government, James Igwe SAN asked the court to give the application an accelerated hearing due to the urgency of the matter to enable students to return to school.

The Claimant’s Counsel urged the Court to grant his application pending the determination of the suit.

Counsel to the Defendant, Femi Falana SAN affirmed that he has been served with the Federal Government’s Interlocutory injunction.

Justice Polycarp Hamman adjourned the case to Monday 19th September 2022 for a hearing and ruling on the interlocutory motion filed by the Federal Government.
