A Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin has affirmed the election of Dr Ahmed Adamu Saba as the House of Representatives Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency.
The presiding judge of the court, Justice M. I Sani, upheld the primary election that produced Dr Saba in a judgement delivered today against the suit filed by Hon. Ahmed Abubakar Ndakene challenging the candidacy of Dr Saba in the mock election.
The court held that Dr Saba was validly elected at the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for House of Representatives’ seat held a few months ago.
Ndakene is the incumbent member of the House of Representatives for Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, who contested in the APC primary election but lost to Saba, who is the Chairman, Kwara State Chapter of Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN).
In his judgement, Justice Sani dismissed the suit challenging the election of Saba in the primary election as lacking in merit.
While the immediate-past Attorney General of the state, Mr Salman Jawondo (SAN) represented Saba at the court, Dr Ariyo Osu, was the counsel to Ndakene.
