The Kwara State contingent to the 37th National Qur’an Recitation Competition holding in Gusau, Zamfara have been Airlifted to Gusau.
In his farewell message before the contingent departed Ilorin, the chairman, of Kwara State on the national Qur’an recitation competition, Alh. Shehu AbdulGafar praised the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his commitment to moral and religious education of Kwaran youths.
AbdulGafar said the encouragement and support received from the governor had always made the participation of the state in the annual event possible, adding that all the participants had to be airlifted for this year and last year’s competition due to security challenges facing the country.
He equally commended parents and guardians of the competitors for giving their children sound Qur’anic education which made them excel in the state competition which qualified them for state representation in the national competition.
He also thanked school authorities from where the competitors were picked for releasing them for the contest; urging the competitors to revise and review often their categories in the competition to win first positions in their categories for Kwara State.
Kwara State is competing in nine out of the 10 categories in the competition – with male and female participants featuring memorisation in various categories including memorisation of the complete Holy Qur’ with tajwid and tafsir.
