Ahead of the wedding ceremony of children of the Special Adviser on Strategy to Kwara State governor, Alh Saadu Salahu, a special prayer was held on Friday in memory of his father and other deceased members of the Igbaja family of Okelele, Ilorin.
In a brief sermon, the Chief Imam of Akuo community, Sheik Mohammed Jamiu Ajijola- Anabi eulogised the virtues of the late Salahudeen.
He described the patriarch of Igbaja family as a legendary Islamic scholar who used his knowledge and wealth to inculcate Islamic education and values in the young ones in the community, including himself ( Ajijola -Anabi).
“Alh Salahudeen during his life time was a great scholar who used his knowledge and wealth to bring up the needy, including myself in Islamic way. He was an honourable man and he died as honourable man. No one talk ills of him because of his humility and exemplary conduct,” Ajijola- Anabi added.
” We are, however, happy that Alh Saadu Salahu is guarding jealously the legacies of his father. Saadu not only teaches moral, but he follows what he teaches,” he added.
The prayer session was attended by eminent personalities, including a university don, Dr Ghali Alaaya, special adviser on Political Communication, Alh Bashiru Adigun, special assistant on Religion (Islam), Alh Ibrahim Danmaigoro, proprietor of Aisha Memorial College of Education, Prof Issa Ibrahim,Prof Ismail Aduagba, retired director of personnel at local government, Alh Olaitan Balogun, regional editor of LEADERSHIP, Alh Abdullahi Olesin and the newly appointed LGEA secretary in Ilorin East, Alh Raufu Asude, amongst others.
The walimat programme comes up on Saturday at Abubakar Memorial School playing field, opposite Aswul petroleum station, Sobi Specialist Hospital road, Alagbado, Okelele, Ilorin.
