Eminent Nigerians including the chief registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board(JAMB), Prof Is- haq Oloyede and the Chief Juge of Kwara State, Justice Sulyman Kawu yesterday gathered in Ilorin to honour Barrister Kehinde Eleja (SAN) at the wedding/ Walimatul Qur’an of his daughter, Mariam Eleja.
Other diginataries at the event which took place at Onisesin mosque, Alore, Ilorin included Malam Yusuf Ali (SAN), Alh Saka Isau (SAN), Adelodun Adebayo (SAN), vice chancellor of the university of Ilorin, Prof AbdulWahab Egbewole (SAN) and Engr Ahmed Kola Ibrahim.
Others are Professors Abubakar Aliagan and AbdulMajeed Alaro, Alh AbdulMajeed Oloriegbe, Engr Kamila Wopa, director general, KWASSIP, Abdulquawiy Olododo, regional editor of LEADERSHIP Newspapers, Alh Abdullahi Olesin; members of the Ilorin branch of the Nigeria Bar Association and representatives of old students of Government Secondary School, Malete.
Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammed Bashir Salihu conducted the Walimatul Qur’an ceremony. He was supported by eminent Imams, including the Imam of Onisesin mosque, Sheikh Olukodo.
In a brief sermon, Ustaz Lukman Isalekoto, urged parents to enrol their children in Quranic schools and inculcate in them sound moral education.
He equally emphasised the need for parents to ensure the well-being of their children’s Qur’an teachers.
