The Special Adviser on Strategy to Kwara State governor, Alh Saadu Salahu, on Saturday, led Ibagun ward in Ilorin East local government area to once again delivered the highest votes in the local government to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The APC won with landslide in the presidential, senate and House of Representatives elections, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came distant second and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) came third.
Salahu voted at the polling unit 001 GDSS Amule, Okelele amidst cheers from the people of the community in appreciation of his love for them.
APC polled 244 in the presidential election, 228 in the Senatorial election and 160 in the House of Representatives election in Salahu’s polling unit.
PDP came second with 90 votes in the presidential, 93 in the Senatorial and 98 in the House of Representatives while SDP came third with 19 votes in the presidential election, 34 in the senatorial election and 89 in the House of Representatives election.
Salahu also delivered the polling units in his Ayegbami residence to the APC. At the polling unit 031 in Ayegbami APC scored 64 in the presidential election, PDP scored 33, SDP scored 0 while NNPP scored 4 votes.
In the Senatorial election, APC scored 55, PDP scored 34, SDP scored 6 while NNPP scored 5.
In the House of Representatives, APC scored 52, PDP scored 35, SDP scored 9 while NNPP scored 4 votes.
Overall results from Ibagun ward showed that the APC polled 6,066, PDP scored 2,702 while SDP – scored 933 votes in the presidential election.
For the Senatorial election, APC polled 5,731, PDP polled 2,791 while SDP scored 1,548 votes.
Also in the House of Representatives, APC scored 4,138, PDP scored 3,091and SDP scored 2,912
Speaking with journalists after the announcement of the election results in Ibagun ward, Salahu expressed his gratitude to the people of Okelele and the entire people of Ibagun community for choosing Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as their preferred political leader and the APC as their preferred political party.
The Special Adviser on Strategy specifically thanked the women, youths, political leaders, community leaders, traditional rulers, decampees from PDP and YPP in Ibagun ward in particular and Ilorin East in general for their support and loyalty to Governor AbdulRazaq.
