Zazzau Emirate sacks title holder for taking law into his hands

    The Zazzau Emirate Council in Kaduna state has suspended a traditional title holder, Mustapha Ubaidullah, Marafan Yamma Zazzau for taking law into own hands.

    A statement Tuesday by the spokesman of the Emirate, Mallam Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, that went viral, said the dicision was taken against the traditional title holder to protect the image and reputation of the traditional institution.

    It warned that the Emirate would not condone any act that could tanish its image and reputation from any traditional ruler and or title holder.

    Reacting to his suspension, the title holder said the dicision was unjust as he ought to have been referred to constituted authorities if his actions did not go down well with the Emirate.

    The embattled title holder further said all he knew was that he flogged one man (name withheld) 60 lashes of the cane having canal knowledge of a minor (boy) behind his (Ubaidullah) residence. (Blueprint)
