Kwara NSCDC Recovers Car Stolen In Kaduna During Test Running, Hands It Over To Owner

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command on Wednesday handed over a recovered stolen vehicle with chassis number No. 2TIBR3E67C846903 to the owner who came from Kaduna state.

According to the statement issued by the spokesperson of the command SC Ayeni Olaaunkamni, the vehicle was handed over to the owner by the state Commandant Umar J.G Mohammed after it was intercepted by the operative of the command when the suspect was trying to sell the car in Ilorin, Kwara state capital.

The statement read in part “The suspect allegedly offered to sell the car (Toyota Corolla 2007) for 800,000 (eight hundred thousand naira) whereas the current market price of the car was said to be between 4.5 to 5 million naira.

“The offer became suspicious that the intended buyer alerted the officers who intercepted the car but the suspect went at large when he discovered that the intended buyer was up to something. The car was taken to the state headquarters where it was later handed over to the owner who came all the way from Kaduna.

“According to Alfred Hassan who earlier reported the case at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Nigeria Police Force, Kaduna on the 23rd of October 2023. The suspect is said to have visited Alfred Motors Nigeria Limited in the pretense that he wanted to buy the car. He was allowed to drive the car for testing and from there, he absconded with the car.
