Kaduna state Police Command has arrested two suspected car thieves and a buyer of stolen car, while recovering three stolen cars in Tudun Wada and Sabon Gari both in Zaria, Kaduna state.
Kaduna state Police Command in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansur Hassan on Monday said “the operatives of Kaduna Police Command attached to Zaria city Divisional Headquarters had on the 23rd November, 2023 at about 06:00 hours acted on a credible information and arrested at Agoro Tudun Wada, Zaria a certain 28 years old Ismail Salisu ‘male’ of Hayin Baki Birnin Gwari, Kaduna state who was in possession of a stolen red Toyota Corolla with registration number Kano GWL 188 TT.
“In a related development, operatives of Sabon Gari Zaria Division on the same date at about 18:30 hours arrested one Isa Adamu and recovered from his possession a grey coloured Toyota Corolla LE 2003 model. The said suspect confessed to have stolen the vehicle in Kaduna town and brought it to Zaria to dispose it. Isa Adamu is a dismissed soldier known notoriously for car snatching, theft and other felonious vices in Benin, Kaduna and Zaria.
“Equally, based on reliable intel, the same operatives of Sabon Gari, Zaria Division arrested one Emeka Nwobodo of Graceland Zaria in possession of a stolen white Toyota Hilux pickup van with registration number Jigawa GML 40 AG. The arrested suspect claimed to have bought the said van from one Ibrahim with an unknown surname. The bonafide owner of the stolen van Ibrahim Aliyu of Aliyu Mohammed road Ungwan Kaduna has since been traced.
“All these three cases are undergoing discreet investigation as the suspects’ accomplices are being trailed for a possible arrest. At the end of which they will all be charged to court to face the full wrath of the law.
“The Commissioner of Police Kaduna state Command, CP A.D Ali while commending the operatives for the recorded success, charged them not to relent in denying criminal elements in the state of any operating space. He calls on the members of the public to always avail security agencies with credible information on suspicious characters in their area for prompt response,” the PPRO said.
