A leading pressure group – Alliance For Sustainable Kwara (ASK) has felicitated with the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and chairman, Conference of Speakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr Yakubu Danladi-Salihu on the joyous occasion of his birthday.
The group in a congratulatory message signed by its chairman, Malam Razaq Lawal, said it shares in the joy of the speaker’s birthday.
The ASK poured encomiums on Salihu-Danladi for the stabilization role he has been playing in the running of the affairs of the state, by ensuring a strong and consistent cordial relationship between the executive and the legislative arms of government.
” On occasions such as this, it’s important to acknowledge the shining leadership traits of Mr Speaker which have helped greatly in stabilising Kwara State.
” The Speaker has ensured a cordial relationship between the legislature which he leads, and the executive arm led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, without comprising the prestige, integrity and constitutional responsibilities of the State House of Assembly.
” This enviable harmonious relationship between the executive and legislative arms of the government has ensured good govance and the spread of democratic dividends across the length and breadth of the state.
” It’s on records that the Salihu-Danladi- led 10th legislature has in the last five years ensured timely passages of Executive Bills and others geared towards bringing about more development to the state. Only four days ago, the legislature passed the Bills that have paved the way for the establishment of Kwara State University of Education and Kwara State University Teaching Hospital ( KWASUTH). The Bills were accented to on Thursday by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to the admiration of the people of the state, home and abroad,” the ASK noted.
The group said it was delighted that such a young man like Salihu-Danladi has the wisdom, humility and capacity to lead the legislature to carry out its onerous responsibilities with diginity and without turning itself to the executive arms’ antagonist.
It prayed God to continue to strengthen the Speaker in his service to Kwara State, Nigeria and humanity; and grant him the enablement that will give him the opportunity to serve Kwarans even more in higher capacity.
