CELEBRATION OF 3 YEARS IN OFFICE OF PROFESSOR FRANCISCA O. OLADIPO: A REMARKABLE TURNAROUND IN UNIVERSITY GROWTH

Words alone cannot fully capture the outstanding leadership and transformative impact of Professor Francisca O. Oladipo in her three years as Vice-Chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University. Fondly known as Madam Goal-Getter, she is a visionary leader whose commitment and drive have propelled the University to remarkable heights.

Permit me to highlight just a few of her notable achievements during this period:

1. Expansion of academic programmes from 15 to 28, including the introduction of the Medicine and Surgery programme.

2. Growth in faculties from 3 to 7, alongside the establishment of one College.

3. Establishment of the School of Postgraduate Studies, with NUC approval for 28 postgraduate programmes.

4. Full accreditation status of our academic programmes.

5. Successfully held the Maiden Convocation Ceremony and ensured prompt mobilization of our graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) immediately after graduation.

6. Significant increase in student enrolment from 60 to over 1400.

7. Prompt and consistent payment of staff salaries.

8. Timely promotion of deserving staff members.

9. Provision of accommodation facilities for both staff and students.

10. Securing over $200,000 in research and institutional grants—rising from zero.

11. Asphalting and infrastructural development of the University campus.

12. Improved the University’s ranking from 235th to 38th out of 298 institutions, and secured the top position among universities licensed in 2021.

On behalf of the University Management, Senate, staff, and students of Thomas Adewumi University, we joyfully celebrate our amiable, humble, and visionary Vice-Chancellor, a true mentor and role model. We commend your remarkable accomplishments within just three years and look forward to even greater milestones in the years ahead.
