As part of efforts to bring an end to child labour and human trafficking in the country, a Civil Society Organization, operating under the aegis of Civil Society on Migration and Development has partnered with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).
The collaboration to bring an end to the menace was sought by the CSO during a courtesy visit to the kwara state headquarters of NSCDC, in Ilorin today’s Friday by the state coordinator of the Civil Society on Migration and Development, Bashiru Kehinde.
Bashir, sought better and result oriented working relationship between its CSO and NSCDC, adding that their organization and the Corps could achieve much in term of training and sharing of intelligence information as they have access to the people than the security agencies.
Responding, Kwara State Commandant of NSCDC, Makinde Iskil Ayinla, frowned at the apathy and reluctance of the populace to share valuable intelligence information that can aid the work of the security operatives adding that people are always unwilling to give out information.
He, however expressed readiness to collaborate with the CSO said “we are very ready to partner with relevant organizations and individuals in order to find permanent solution to child labour, human trafficking and other migration related issues in the country”
The Commandant used the occasion to announce the efforts of the NSCDC to make sure that the corps has more divisional offices across all the 16 local governments areas of the State said “at present NSCDC has more than 27 divisional offices across the 16 local governments and our plan is to make sure that NSCDC has outpost/office at every three kilometers across the State” the Commandant explained
