Likeminds Foundation Tasks Beneficiaries of Free ICT Training on Good Deployment of Knowledge

A Kwara-based socio-cultural group, Ilorin Likeminds Foundation has urged the beneficiaries of its free Information Communications Technology, ICT, training to make proper use of the knowledge acquired and make the association proud.

The vice-president of the foundation, Alhaji Lukman Atanda Abdullahi, made the call on Monday in Ilorin at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association.

“As a foundation, that registered in less than 2 years, we have sponsored 100 youths in Ilorin Emirate on free ICT training and the programme alone cost us almost five million naira (N5 million) and among other things we have done was the provision of food items to the less privileges during the last Ramadan in about thirty mosques in the Ilorin metropolis.

“It is very important to urge the beneficiaries of our free ICT training to make proper use of the knowledge acquired because it was not a joke to get such high intensive ICT training anywhere, very expensive training and we want them to make us proud by making use of the knowledge to advance in their careers and be more self-reliant.

Disclosed that the foundation is a collection of people, friends that are close to their retirement age in service/career and believe that they have to give back to their communities in area of education, health and skill acquisition empowerment.

Stated further that another important objective of the foundation is resuscitating and promoting the cultural heritage of Ilorin Emirate.

On the same note, the Secretary and the chairman of the board of trustees of the foundation, Ahmad Sheu Moyosore and Tunde Abdulkareem, appreciated the members of the foundation for what he described as an impressive turnout and urged them not to relent in their efforts in giving back to their communities.
