In the bid to boost security in Ondo State, the government has distributed fifty operational vehicles to security agencies.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu while handing over the vehicles in Akure, said there was no amount of resources invested in safeguarding the lives of citizens that could be too much due to the surge of alarming criminal activities in the country.
While lamenting a series of security breaches, Governor Akeredolu further appealed for a re-jig of the nation’s security architecture and collaboration among the agencies to effectively check terrorists and bandits’ attacks.
Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters and the Commander of Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye appreciated the government, saying the vehicles would aid the operations of the operatives.
The fifty vehicles were given out to Nigeria Police, the Army, the DSS, Amotekun and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
