Media personality and relationship expert, Blessing Okoro aka Blessing CEO has stated reasons men cheat and how her failed marriage inspired her to be a relationship expert.

She made the disclosure during her appearance on Vanguard’s online TV show, Lunch Date with Vanguard.

During the show, Blessing said most men find it hard to express emotions which explains their vulnerability. She compared how women find it easy to articulate issues with friends, family, and on social media whereas men don’t have who to talk to.

She said, “Many men when they are going through stuffs at home, they just pick up their car key and go away from home, that’s why you see some men wanting to jump third mainland bridge, go to hotel, pick olosho(sex workers)”

Blessing added that most men do not cheat intentionally but as a result of their vulnerability. She made allusions to instances of men wanting to commit suicide and cheat on their wives because they don’t know what to do.

“In Lagos, people don’t rest, they work, work, make so much money and you don’t even spend it, You need to find time to relax, relaxation is what is called therapy. When you relax, that’s when you find time to reflect”, she added.

Asked why marriages are breaking up, She opined how she survived domestic violence in her former marriage.

“People need to understand that the thing going on in your marriage is not strange, it happens everywhere, the only thing therapy does for you is to tell you the limit to what you can bare.

I have been married and divorced before, I know what I bared in the marriage before I finally said I don’t want to do it anymore, mine was domestic violence, mine was domestic violence, normal misunderstandings can be sorted as it happens in every home”, Blessing said:

With therapy, people would be able to iron out trivial issues that usually lead to disagreements.

She said her interest in relationship therapy was a result of the issues she faced in her marriage.

“I realized that I desperately wanted to share, when I was going through my depression and marital wahala, there was no Blessing CEO to talk to, I made so many mistakes, I struggled. It’s like you fell and you lifted yourself.”
