Call Off Your Illegal Strike Action – Gov Badaru Warns State University ASUU Members

Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa state has directed an academic staff of Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa to call off their unjustified strike action in the interest of industrial harmony.

He gave the directive at an interactive meeting with the Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries, Directors, Deputy Directors, Heads of Agencies and Departments held at Sir Ahmadu Bello Hall New Secretariat Dutse.

Governor Badaru stressed the need for elders and relevant stakeholders in the educational Sector in the state to promptly intervene on the issue, as the state government will no longer tolerate the action of the lecturers for no just cause.

He warned that the academic staff have no reasons whatsoever to join ASUU in its ongoing strike as they are being paid salaries and other remuneration as when due.

Responding to questions from the participants, Badaru said almost all the academic lecturers are indigenes of Jigawa state, who are expected to be patriotic and deeply concerned about the educational development of the state.

The Governor warned that he does not want the situation to get sour which might force the government to take drastic action similar to that of Kaduna and Lagos States.

Also commenting, the Head of Service Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila lamented the lecturer’s action and commended Governor Badaru’s led administration for providing an enabling working environment to the state workforce for better service delivery.
