Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is rebuilding collapsed infrastructure left behind by the 16 years misrule of the PDP. We are amused by the repeated impulsive statements of Mister Shuaibu Yaman, the PDP Governorship Candidate on the Bond obtained by the State Government to rebuild critical infrastructure in the State.
Yaman’s thoughtless statements show his lack of capacity for governance and understanding of how modern Government works.
For the avoidance of doubt, it is the best practice globally to borrow to fix critical infrastructure with the ultimate intention to boost investments and enhance development in the society.
All over the world, governments and corporate institutions lean on creditors for greater investments. Besides, it is only government or institution that has the ability to repay loans that can successful source funds from the Capital Market especially when committed for development purposes.
Unlike the PDP era when such loan was used for their personal aggrandizement, Governor AbdulRazaq is leveraging on loan to create brighter future of the young people of Kwara. We have not forgotten how the PDP diverted into private pockets, the loans obtained to fix infrastructure in the State.
We will like to educate Yaman, that the bond is specifically tied to infrastructural development of the state and so far the creditors are satisfied with how the bond is being utilized.
Governor AbdulRazaq has used the fund to build Innovation center, Visual Arts Centre, a Garment factory, KWASU campuses in Osi and Ilesha Baruba, Osi/ Obbo Aiyegunle road, Alhikma road dualization among others which will create direct and indirect jobs for the people of the state
He has also built and fixed damaged classrooms in Schools across all Local Governments in the State , He has fixed, equipped and staffed many health facilities in the State.
He has employed more workers into the Civil Service and Teaching Service. We are appalled by Yaman’s lies about creating 20,000 jobs in Kwara North which was neglected by the PDP for 16 years. We need to remind the People of Kwara that the PDP now promising to create new jobs could not pay 18 Thousand Naira Minimum wage to Civil servants during its inglorious regime. It was an era characterized by looting and outright conversation of state assets to personal use. Despite dwindling resources, Governor AbdulRazaq has been paying 30 Thousand Naira Minimum wage.
We trust that the people of Kwara will not fall for the deception of the PDP which plundered the resources of the State. We restate that the PDP can only bring pain and misery.
Alhaji Bashir Adigun,
Special Adviser Political Communications to Kwara State Governor.
