Abia State Governor, Ikpeazu moves to Abuja over kidney failure endanger COVID-19 recover

Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has been reportedly moved to Abuja, from private Isolation centre in Abia State, where he was receiving treatment to overcome COVID-19 illness.

It was learnt that Governor Ikpeazu, who has had a running battle with kidney failure had been undergoing dialysis before contracting the deadly COVID-19 again.

According to our source, the Governor moved to Abuja for comprehensive treatment after it was discovered by the Doctors that, he had some underlying medical challenges which would hinder his quick recovery from COVID-19 illness.

It was also gathered that several attempts to fly Ikpeazu abroad for treatment proved abortive, following the ban on international flights in many countries around the world.

Meanwhile, Governor Ikpeazu had earlier on Monday 8/9/2020 directed his deputy, Hon Ude Oko Chukwu to continue act on his behalf in the state affairs pending his recovery. Ikpeazu said this through a statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr John Okiyi and made available to the pressmen.
