Accolades As Deputy Director, Mashood Olesin Retires

Friday September 1, 2023 was a day of honour for Alh Mashood Olesin as staff of Kwara State Ministry of Education, friends, associates and relations organised a befitting send off for him.

Olesin, a deputy director retired from the state civil service after putting in 35 years of meritorious service.

The staff of the Ministry of Education put together the memorable send off ceremony which was held at the conference hall of the ministry. The spacious conference room was filled to the brim.

Speakers after speakers took turns to extolled the virtues of the retired deputy director.

The speakers included a director in the ministry, Mrs V.F Adewuyi who
represented the permanent secretary, poured encomiums on Alh Olesin for his dedication, thoroughness and commitment to his duties while in the service.

Other speakers included Dr Taiye Iliasu and Mrs Bukola Olawoye. While Iliasu described Olesin as a thorough bread bureaucrat who always carried out his assignments painstakingly,Mrs Olawoye described the retired deputy director as a very humane personality who was always ready to put his juniors through their assignments.

Mrs Olawoye emphasised that Olesin was a UNICEF trained educationist whose services could still be sought for even in retirement.

Diginataries present at event included the principal of Okelele Secondary School, Ilorin, Malam AbdulKadir Akanbi Alubarka, a deputy director at the State Universal Basic Education Board( (SUBEB), Alh Sulaiman Olesin, regional editor of LEADERSHIP Newspapers, Alh Abdullahi Olesin, Alhaja Ayo Olesin, the wife of the honouree, Mrs Shola Olesin and her children.
