Airforce confirms suicide by female Warrant Officer

The Nigerian Airforce high command has confirmed a female Personnel, Master Warrant Officer George Elizabeth Titilayo serving at 651 Base Services Group, has been found dead in a suspected suicide on Sunday.

An Intelligence source told Zagazola Makama, a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region that the Air Force personnel was found unresponsive at her Resident at Block T5 Flat 8 in Sam Ethnan Air Force Base Ikeja, Lagos, after she hung herself inside her room at about 2 pm on June 10, 2023.

The sources said that she was pronounced dead by 3 Air Provosts who came with another team of personnel to evacuate the body to the 661 Nigerian Air Force Hospital.

In a telephone conversation, the NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ayodele Famuyiwa also confirmed the incident adding that a board of inquiry has been instituted to ascertain the reason for her action. ( Guardian)
