Alleged diversion of 13, Hilux vehicles: Borno CJTF sacks president, suspends others

The Borno state Auditor General of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), Bashir Abbas, has said the leadership of CJTF, Borno state, after series of meetings and deliberations have decided to announce to the general public of its decision to reinstate the following suspended members in line with the directive of Borno state government since November, 2022.

They include: i. Babakura Mustapha ii, Abba Aji Kalli III, Abba Tijani Sadiq IV, Jibrin Tela Gunda Abbas who is also the former Sector 4 Commander said the group having given regard to Article 6 rule 2 (vi) of the CJTF constitution, the leadership have unanimously decided to suspend its president, in person of Baana Lawan Ja’afar who was alleged to have misappropriated 11 Hilux Toyota four wheel drive vehicles given to the organisation by the Borno state government for operational purposes and 2 other Hilux vehicles given to the organisation by NNPC for operational purpose.

Addressing Journalists Sunday at the NUJ Press Center, Maiduguri, he added that the leadership of the CJTF is also announcing to the general public of its decision pursuant to Article 6 rule 1 of the CJTF constitution to appoint Baba Shebu Abdulganiyu as the acting president of the organization, who doubles as the Commander Sector 4 CJTF, where Baba Shehu will be the leader of the organization till a substantive leader is appointed.

He said he led two third majority of the executive members of the state council of the CJTF of 5 exco members and 9 other sector leaders out of the 27 state council members.
