Alleged N300m Bribe: PDP Publicity Secretary Retracts Statement, Apologises To Gov, INEC Boss

The publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kwara State chapter, Prince Tunji Moronfoye, has withdrawn the allegation that the state governor, AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq, had bribed the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mal Garba Attahiru Madami, with N300m to rig the 2023 gubernatorial election in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The retraction of the statement by Moronfoye, came after a threat of legal action by the INEC boss in the state.

The retraction and apologies statement signed by Moronfoye, read “I Prince ‘Tunji Moronfoye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) publicity secretary wishes to retract my press statement titled “Dark schemes of a Biased umpire”. Released on the 16/06/2022. The statement was infact misleading and unstubstanstiated. Especially, where I stated that the the sum of N300m, changed hands. This gross error was discovered after an intense scrutiny of the information released. I hereby apologize to Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq the executive governor of Kwara state and Mal. Garba Attairu Madami the Kwara state resident Electoral Commissioner on the above issue.
