The Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST), Benin on Friday graduated 390 personnel who completed eight specialised courses in logistics for the fourth quarter of 2025.

In his welcome address, Maj.-Gen. Adebayo Adegbite, Commandant of the school, said the students had undergone “rigorous and comprehensive training” aligned with the Chief of Army Staff’s command philosophy.

Adegbite noted that the courses cut across logistics management, supply operations, driving and vehicle maintenance, fire and safety, and catering and hospitality.

“These students have been thoroughly prepared in line with the standards of the Nigerian Army.

“I am confident they are ready to put into practice the lessons learned from this demanding programme,” Adegbite said.

He expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff and the Commander of Training and Doctrine Command for “continuous support and guidance” that have elevated NASST’s training capacity.

The commandant also commended the Director of Training in the school for what he described as “tremendous effort in shaping the students into useful assets for Nigeria and the world.”

He added that partnerships with private sector institutions continued to enrich the school’s curriculum, which now integrated research and development, ICT, social media literacy, leadership, and core logistics doctrine.

Providing further insight into the training, the Deputy Commandant and Director of Training in the school, Brig.-Gen. K. E. Inyang, said the school maintained its mandate of delivering “pragmatic, competency-based training” for officers and soldiers.

Inyang explained that the fourth-quarter courses were inaugurated between October and November and involved extensive classroom work, doctrinal studies, practical exercises, and field operations.

According to him, the students were engaged in collaborative problem-solving, presentations, doctrinal reviews, and hands-on training in areas such as catering, petroleum product handling, vehicle operations, fire response, and logistics chain management.

He highlighted that many of the graduating courses conducted endowment projects, including equipment donations, facility renovations, and instructional upgrades, as part of their contributions to strengthening the school.

The director of training noted that NASST played a strategic role during Exercise Mobile Mobility IV, a nationwide field training operation, where students were deployed to provide logistics support in transportation, petroleum supply, catering, and fire safety.

“The exercise exposed our students to real-time field conditions and reinforced their understanding of the Nigerian Army’s logistics doctrine,” he said.

The Special Guest of Honour, Brig.-Gen. Ahmed Balogun, in his remarks, praised the institution for sustaining a culture of excellence.

Balogun, who is the Commander, 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, described the graduating students as “critical contributors to the operational efficiency of the Nigerian Army.”
He added that logistics personnel remained pivotal to mission success.

“This moment stands as a testament to your dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
“Your role in ensuring the efficient movement of personnel and materiel, as well as maintaining the highest standards in services, is fundamental to achieving the operational goals of the Nigerian Army,” Brig.-Gen. Balogun told the graduates.

He, however, urged the trained officers and soldiers to uphold professionalism, discipline, and the values of the Nigerian Army wherever they are deployed.

Balogun also commended the school’s leadership, noting that “the quality of training, infrastructure improvements and academic oversight reflect the vision of the Chief of Army Staff and the commitment of NASST’s staff.”
