Assault On Corps Member: NYSC Commends Kwara Gov. Swift-Action

The National Youth Service Corps, Kwara State has commended the prompt and appropriate sanction exhibited against the Teacher involved in the assault on corps members in the state.

Why responding to the atrocious incident on behalf of the management of the scheme in the state, the State Coordinator, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa lauded the position of the Kwara State government and actionable measures put in place to prevent future occurrences.

The State Coordinator who had earlier described the action of the teacher as barbaric against an innocent Corps member whose intention is to add value to the state, however, explained that the apt action taken by the government has compelled equity and further reiterated the position of government on security and welfare of Corps members in the state.

The NYSC boss also appreciates Governor AbdulRasaq Abdulrahman’s led administration for continued support for the scheme and therefore assured uninterrupted delivery of the mandate of the scheme in the State.

The state coordinator hereby charged all Corps members in the state to be law-abiding and maximize the period of national service to contribute their quota to the advancement of the state, enabling them to build on the various achievements of their predecessors.

The state government under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) had earlier announced measures taken on the concerned teacher which included demotion, transfer, and enrollment into counseling for attitudinal change.
