Atiku assures Fulani, Tiv peace accord

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar says that part of the measures he would adopt to ensure that peace returns to Benue state is for the Fulanis and Tivs sign a peace accord.

The former Vice President made the pledge in Makurdi, the Benue State capital while addressing party supporters at the PDP Presidential Campaign Rally.

Atiku gave the assurance that he would end insecurity and ensure peaceful co-existence between Fulani and Tiv communities in the state.

While adding that he will do all in his power for the people to freely go to their farms without fear of losing their lives as that will make Benue state the nation’s true food basket.

The National Chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu urged the people to vote out the APC.

The former Senate President said that the PDP was intact just as he called on all aggrieved members especially the Governor of Benue State, Mr. Samuel Ortom to bury his grievances and return to the party.

The campaign team had earlier visited the Tor Tiv, Prof. James Ayatse and Ochi Idoma, Agaba-Idu, Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John at their palaces in Gboko and Oturkpo to solicit their support.(RN)
