AUPCTRE Rejoices As AbdulRazaq Okays Payment of Ex-Kwara Express Staff’s Outstanding Money

Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) in Kwara State has applauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for approving the payment of outstanding entitlement of 85 former staffers of Harmony Transport Services Limited totalling Thirty Six Million, Eight Hundred and Thirty Thousand, Nine Hundred and Nineteen Naira and Thirty Kobo (N36,830,919.30) in three installments.

The union particularly hailed the state government for the immediate payment of the first instalment of over Twelve Million Naira (N12,000,000.00).

The appreciation was contained in a letter addressed to Governor AbdulRazaq and signed by the state Secretary of AUPCTRE, Comrade Saliu Suleiman.

The union thanked the Governor for absorbing the erstwhile staff of Harmony Transport Services Limited formerly known as Kwara Express into the mainstream of the state civil service and Kwara State Traffic Management Authority respectively.

AUPCTRE expressed confidence that the payment of outstanding entitlements of the former staffers of Kwara Express would cushion the effect of the sufferings they had endured.

The union said the gesture of Governor AbdulRazaq to the affected workers was a good testimony to his sterling quality.

The letter reads partly, “We convey our special appreciation to Your Excellency’s timely and positive intervention to the pathetic plight of the former staffers of Harmony Transport Services Limited (Kwara Express) by your approval for payment in three installments of the outstanding payment of N36,830,919.30 and the immediate payment of over N12,000,000.00 of the first instalment.

“Your Excellency sir, we strongly believe that this year’s approval for payment, would go a long way to cushion the effect of the long-standing suffering of the workers.

“We also once again thank and appreciate Your Excellency’s good gesture in the absorption to the mainstream of the Civil Service and Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority respectively former staffers of Harmony Transport Services Limited (Kwara Express). This is indeed a good testimony to Your Excellency’s sterling quality”.
