Ayu Will Resign After 2023 Election – PDP BoT Reveals

The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the National Chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu to assure that he will resign after the 2023 election.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja, on Friday PDP BoT Chairman, and former President of the Senate, Adolphus Wabara said “the National Chairman should give a firm commitment that he will resign after the 2023 election”.

Wabara also said the BoT charged the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal to immediately convene an emergency meeting

Reading the communique after the 5 hours closed-door meeting in party headquarters, Wabara said the BoT resolved that “all Party leaders and persons close to them, will desist from making further inflammatory remarks or granting press interviews.

The communique further read “to call on the Chairmen of the PDP Governors Forum to convene a meeting of the PDP Governors Forum without further delay.

“To call on all the leaders of the party to match words with action and where commitments are made to unconditionally fulfil same.

“To urge the National Chairman as an eminent leader to give a firm assurance that he would resign his position after the 2023 elections.

“To call on the presidential candidate to review its appointments of members of the campaign council and other advisory appointments to make it all-inclusive.

“The BoT will refer some of these recommendations for noting and appropriate action to NEC of our party in due Course”.
