Kwara state chapter of the Labour Party has debunked the reported defection of members of the state executive council of the party, saying that the exco is intact.

It would be recalled that some people claimed to be members of the Labour Party, led by Mr Mohammed Ibrahim Ladan who addressed himself as secretary on Thursday announced their defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the development activities of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in the past four years in office as reasons for their actions.

However, speaking with journalists in Ilorin at the Labour Party Secretariat on Friday, the state secretary of the party, Mrs Tosin Ogunleye, described people who reportedly defected to the APC as impostors and political jobbers.

Ogunleye, said that Ladan and some others had been expelled from the Labour Party before now due to anti-party activities.

“Members of the state executive of the Labour Party in Kwara state are intact. Nobody has decamped to APC. And a point to note here is that we’re not forming an alliance with any other party in this governorship election and all our House of Assembly candidates in all the state constituencies are contesting in the Saturday elections.

“Most of the people that said they’re decamping to the APC or PDP in Kwara state are either our members or impostors. They are political jobbers, going to PDP and APC for selfish gain and people should not take them seriously”. She said
