Beneficiaries Recount Gain Of Free Healthcare by Kwara State Government

Beneficiaries of the free health-care intervention programme sponsored by the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration in Kwara State have recounted their gains.

The free medical intervention programme was designed by the present administration to take free healthcare to the doorstep of vulnerable people across the sixteen (16) local government areas in the state.

Expressing his appreciation, Mr Muhammad Abdullahi who was one of the beneficiaries from Oyun local government area commended the Governor for deeming it necessary to address the plight of the indigent members of the community.

He said “everything is not money, if you give me money to do this operation, I will spend it on something else. Imagine the cost of operation for almost 40 people that will be operated here today, I am happy that Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has taken care of my health, he deserves a reward from me and prayer for God to meet his needs also. I also thank those professional Doctors and nurses that are doing the work.

“Our people will forever remain grateful to governor AbdulRahman.

Also another beneficiary, Mr Azeez Yusuf, “I am relieved because I was operated by a team of medical experts and I was also given some medications which I’m told will last for about a week”

Speaking, head of the monitoring team from the Ministry of Health, Dr Olabisi Oyeyipo said turnout has been very impressive and today’s outing in Oyun LGA was the 8th of its type.

The people of Oyun and its environs avail the opportunity of benefiting from free medical consultation and distribution of free drugs for common ailments, and surgical services for common minor problems such as hernia, lipoma, hydrocoele and blinding eye disease, among others.

Free reading glasses were also distributed to some teachers and other beneficiaries that complained of difficulty in reading tiny prints.

Also speaking the lead expert and Director, Medical Services and Training in the Ministry of Health, Dr Johnson Oyeniyi disclosed that the exercise went smoothly and prayed for sustained impact in the remaining Local Government Areas.

Also the Director of Primary Health Care, Oyun Local Government, Mrs Nimata Titilayo Zubair praised the governor for his magnanimity and appreciated the medical team for the humanitarian services being rendered to the people.
