Buhari Reshuffles Cabinet, Swears In Seven New Ministers

President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in 7 ministers recently confirmed by the Senate.

The Ministers are Henry Ikechukwu, from Abia State, to serve as Minister of State, Science, and Technology, Umana Umana, Akwa Ibom, deployed as Minister of the Niger Delta, Odum Odih, Rivers, to serve as Minister of Environment, and Ademola Adegoroye, from Ondo State, to serve as Minister of State, Transportation.

The rest are Umar El-Yakub, Kano State, deployed as Minister of State, Works and Housing, Goodluck Opiah, Imo, to sent as Minister of State, Education, and Egwumakama Nkama, from Ebonyi State, to serve as Minister of State, Health.

The new Ministers are a replacement for their predecessors who left to pursue higher political opportunities.

Addressing the new Ministers, President Buhari urged them to prove themselves worthy of the trust reposed in them.

The President also urged them to bring their expertise to bear in the efforts to deliver the country from its predicament.

Before their inauguration, a minute’s silence was observed in honour of the outgoing Secretary-General of the 4th Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, Mohammed Barkindo, who died yesterday, at the age of 63.
