Former Governor of Oyo State and Otun Olubadan of Ibadan land, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, Wednesdayl faulted the planned elevation of Ibadan High Chiefs to beaded Crown wearing Obas by Governor Seyi Makinde.

High Chief Ladoja while responding to questions from Journalists at his Ondo street Bodija residence in Ibadan after observing Eid prayers at the University of Ibadan Muslim praying ground said there was no need by the Oyo state government to “mend what is not broken. I don’t think it is right.

The Otun Olubadan emphasised that he should be counted out of the Ibadan High Chiefs to be elevated to beaded crown wearing Obas.

Emphatically, Ladoja said, “You don’t mend what is not broken. I don’t think it is right to make High Chiefs as Obas. The only crown I want to wear is the Olubadan crown.

“Everybody knows that it is God that makes one an Oba. As far as I am concerned, it is not proper for High Chiefs to wear crown. My intention is to become Olubadan.” (Blueprint)
