The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says it is working to address the challenges Nigerians are facing to have access to the new naira notes.
The Governor of the CBN, Godwin Emefiele said this during a session with Journalists in Lagos.
Mr Emefiele said the apex bank was aware of the hardship Nigerians were facing and promised to swing into action to ameliorate the problems.
The CBN governor assured Nigerians that efforts were on to extend cash swaps to microfinance banks and engage 30,000 super agents in the hinterlands to speed up the circulation of new naira notes.
The CBN is engaging banks to make alternative Channels easily accessible to Nigerians, he said.
President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier on Friday asked Nigerians to give him seven days to address the challenges they face while trying to get access to the new naira notes.
