Cleric Urges Children To Sustain Legacies Left By Late Princess Awawu Adedoyin

An Islamic cleric, Alhaji Bashir Ibrahim Adewara has urged the children of late Princess Awawu Ajibike Adedoyin to sustain and build on the good legacy left behind by the deceased.

Imam Bashir, who is a Chief Imam of Ijomu Oro Central Mosque made the call while leading a Fidau prayer for the late Princess Awawu Ajibike Adedoyin at Ijomu Oro town square in Irepodun local government area of kwara state on Thursday.

Imam Bashir described late Princess Awawu as an amazon for women emancipation who dedicated much of her lifetime to the betterment of people
“Mama was not just a great mother to her children alone but to everyone that cross her path. We have lost a great woman who left her name on the sands of time. She fought for the cause of women and children. We have lost a great gem and we pray that Allah will grant her Aljanah Fridous” he said

The Fidau was attended by the deputy Governor of kwara Stare, Mr. Kayode Alabi, the deputy speaker, Kwara state house of assembly and many dignitaries.

Expressing his condolence, a chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, Hon. Mashood Mustapha described late Princess Awawu said “Mama would be missed by all not only by her biological children, because she saw everyone as her children and was always there to admonish us, so we are going to miss her great admonishment”

Mustapha stressed further that, one of the lessons late Princess Awawu taught them is to always be upright, steadfast and courageous in life.

Talking about some significant impact of late Princess Awawu when it comes to community and human development,
Alhaji Raheem Adedoyin, one of the biological children of the deceased who also holds a chieftaincy title in the town, as Oloriewe of Oro, said “ My mother’s sense of focus and service to humanity would be greatly missed, not only by his children but by many who had crossed her path” , noting that many used to call the deceased “best friend” because once you come in contact with her, you would love her and become her 5 and 6”

Oloriewe, who is a media guru also spoke about some values inherited from his mother, including; hardworking, focus, discipline and love of God”

He charged the entire family and Oro people in general to carry on the legacies such as service to the community and people.

Dignitaries who graced the event, included; APC National Chairmanship hopeful, Malam Saliu Mustapha, former special adviser to the president Goodluck Jonathan, Senator Makanjuola Ajadi, deputy chief of staff, Princess Olubukola Babalola, the Chairmen of the Transition Implementation Committee for Irepodun, Isin and Oke-Ero , Jide Oyin Oyinloye, Tunde Fadipe and Victor Yusuf respectively, former Commissioners Chief Segun Olawoyin and Hon. Kayode Towoju, Barrister Segun Olawoyin and Ben Duntoye, , Senior Special Adviser on Special Duties to Governor AbdulRazaq, Hon. Yinka Aluko, Alhaji Jani Ibrahim, former deputy Chief of Staff, CT Ayeni and Chairman, UNILAG Mass Communication Association ( UMCA 84 set), Mr. Fred Ohwahwa, APC Chieftains, Hon. Olayemi Olabaniji, Alh. Taju Aro Folaranmi, Chief Wole Oke, Hon. Layi Ayinde, Prince Shaibu Olanrewaju, Chief Wole ; former Special Adviser, Anu Ibiwoye and members of Aura Club, led by Alh. Tajudeen Adigun.
