Cooking gas explosion kills housewife in Kwara

A cooking gas explosion has reportedly killed a housewife, Mrs Adeola Adewale, at the Tabernacle 2c area, Egbe Garage in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Monday at about 10:35hrs while the woman was trying to prepare food for her family in the kitchen.

Confirming the incident, Director Kwara State Fire Service Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, said the operatives of the Fire Service were able to put the situation under control and saved the victim’s husband who had also been trapped inside the fire explosion and was taken to the hospital.

He, however, charged the general public, particularly women, to go and learn the correct practice of using a cooking gas cylinder.
