Credible Census Pivotal To National Development – Emir

Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has described the conduct of a credible and authentic census as pivotal to human and societal development.

The Emir stated this while receiving the Chairman of the National Population Commission NPC Alhaji Nasir Isa Kwarra on a courtesy call to his palace.

He said conducting a credible census will help government to have the needed data, with the aim of planning for infrastructure, health ,education and all aspects of human endeavour.

Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero expressed his satisfaction with the level of the progress made so far by the commission , especially in enumeration of houses and all relevant areas in all parts of the nation. 

“I am appealing to all the youths that will participate in the census exercise as adhoc staff to be patriotic and put in their minds that they are rendering service to their father.”

He assured the support of Kano Emirate in ensuring successful conduct of the forthcoming census, geared towards achieving the set objectives.

Earlier, the National Chairman of the NPC Alhaji Nasir Isa Kwarra said they were at the palace to pay homage and to receive royal advice and blessings.

He explained that the Commission accords much priority to the traditional institutions, being custodians of culture and tradition of the people.

Alhaji Nasir Isa Kwarra noted that despite security challenges in some parts of the country , preparations on the forthcoming census have reached advanced level, stressing that 773 local government have been demarcated.

He added that the commission had already developed digital maps , since the census was going to be digital.
