A non-governmental organisation, operating under the aegis of Elites Network for Sustainable Development (ENetSuD), has alleged Kwara state government of inflated the renovation contract of Iyeru Grammar School in Offa LGA by ₦4,854,477.85.
The contract sum on the Bill of Quantity (BoQ) approved for the project by the Ministry is ₦35,520,741.65.
However, ENetSuD’s re-calculation of the project’s contract sum shows that the correct contract sum ought to be ₦30,666,263.80.
The difference between the approved contract sum by the Ministry and the one re-calculated by ENetSuD is ₦4,854,477.85.
The excess amount results from various irrelevant items alien to the preparation of a standard Bill of Quantity (BoQ) that the Ministry inserted into it.
The project of Iyeru Okin Grammar School has components including the construction of 2 blocks of 2 classrooms, construction of 2 room toilets, provision of a geographical garden, and supply and installation of instructional materials, teaching aids, and laboratory equipment.
The breakdown of how ENetSuD arrived at the inflated contract sum can be found on ENetSuD App under the 2020 projects tracking report.
