Don, Media Guru Task Muslim Media Practitioners On Factual Reporting

Muslim journalists have urged to practice their trade in line with the dictates of the Holy Qur’an and prophetic tradition.

An Islamic teacher at the university of Ilorin, Prof Badmus Yusuf and the Special Adviser on Strategy to Kwara State governor, Alh Saadu Salahu, gave the charge while speaking at a lecture organised by the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria(MMPN), Kwara State’s branch in Ilorin yesterday.

Yusuf who was as the guest lecturer, and Salahu who was the chairman of the occasion, charged Muslim media practitionersnot to use their vintage positions to bring innocent people down through unfounded news reports.

They reminded them that they will be accountable for their writings and deeds on the day of judgement.

Salahu, reminded the Muslim media practioners not to use their God given tools- the tongue and hand to destroy innocent people.

For his part, Yusuf urged Muslim media practioners to allow the teaching of their religion reflect in their daily activities.

He said they will do themselves and the society a lot of good by ensuring correct and balancing reportage of events. In

In his contribution, the chief press secretary to the state governor, Rafiu Ajakaye urged unity amongst Muslim media practioners in the state, urging them to be their brothers keeper.
