The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in its custody for some investigative reasons.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Peter Afunanya, Public Relations Officer, Department of State Services (DSS) National Headquarters, Abuja.
The statement read “The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in its custody for some investigative reasons.
“The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this”.
DSS had earlier today Saturday said that the former Apex Bank chief was not in its custody amidst public reactions after being suspended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday evening.
