A House of Representatives aspirant for Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, has rejoiced with the Muslim community on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Fitri.

He said the occasion offered an ample time for Muslims to reflect on the past events and renew their faith in Almighty Allah that all hope is not lost notwithstanding the challenges of the moment.

In a statement issued in Ilorin to commemorate Eid-el-Fitri, Ajia admonished Muslim faithful to exercise restraint, cultivate peace and be their brother’s keeper as exhibited in the just concluded Ramadan fast.

He, however, urged the people of Ilorin Emirate and its environs to unite, eschew enmity among themselves and stand firmly and collectively to tackle some of the challenges bedeviling their community.

Ajia, who is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mohammed Ajia Ibrahim (MAI) Foundation, appealed to the people of Ilorin Emirate extraction to use the occasion of Eid-el-Fitri to ward off divisive tendencies.

He called for prayer for traditional and political leaders including the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, in their quest to stabilize the society for the good of all.

“In the spirit of Eid-el-Fitri, I rejoice with the Muslim faithful the world over, Nigeria, Kwara and Asa/Ilorin West in particular on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fast.

“We thank Almighty Allah for giving us the enablement to participate actively, and in His infinite mercies, decided to spare our lives to witness the occasion of Eid-el-Fitri.

“It is obvious that in the last 30 days, we have cultivated forbearance, engaged in act of charity and prayed fervently to Almighty Allah to see us through the vicissitudes of life. With that, we should have a renewed faith in the Almighty Allah that all hope is not lost.

“We use this occasion to call on the people of Ilorin Emirate and its environs to unite, eschew enmity among themselves and stand firmly and collectively to tackle some of the challenges bedeviling their community. These and among others, if employed, would see us stand united as a people with common destiny.

“Let us also explore the rare opportunity of the spiritual moment to pray for our political and traditional leaders for divine wisdom and guidance to pilot our affairs successfully”, Ajia, a 2019 governorship aspirant of the PDP said.
