The Federal Government of Nigeria has ordered the closure of all land borders for Saturday, February 25, 2023, general election.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Comptroller-general of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Isah Jere Idris, Thursday, February 23, 2023.
The statement reads, “Further to the Presidential and National Assembly elections taking place on February 25, 2023, the federal government has directed the closure of all Nigeria’s land borders with effect from Saturday February 25 to Sunday, February 26, 2023.
“This is to restrict movements across the borders during the election days. The public is to take note and ensure compliance.”
