Alhaji Idris Abubakar, the Emir of Okuta in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara, has called on Nigerians to exercise their voting rights and elect their candidates in the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The emir made the appeal on Saturday during the general elections, saying that Nigerians should not allow scarcity of new Naira notes to stop them from voting.
Abubakar called on the people to have faith in INEC, as the new technology to be used during the poll would not give room for any form of electoral malpractice.
He advised the people of Baruten to be law abiding and guard against any negative tendency that can truncate peaceful atmosphere of their communities and the state at large.
The first class emir commended the state government for the establishment of a radio station in Okuta, to bridge the communication gap between Kwara North and the state capital.
