The indigenes of Isanlu-Isin in the Isin local government area of Kwara State in Diaspora have appealed to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to forgive them of any perceived wrongdoing and fix their road that has been abandoned over the years.
The 11-kilometer Oke Onigbin – Isanlu Isin road was gathered to be awarded by the former Governor Muhammed Lawal who governed between 1999-2023 with the first phase executed before it was abandoned.
Appealing to Governor AbdulRazaq led present administration, the Isanlu Isin Sons and Daughters in Diaspora under the leadership of Chief Joshua Olabisi Oloyede, (Asiwaju Isinland in Diaspora) and Engr. Dapo Owolabi, commended Governor AbdulRazaq for embarking on infrastructure projects across the state and remind him not to forget the promise he made six years ago on abandoned projects.
The statement reads:
“We the Isanlu Isin Diasporans greet our amiable and listening governor. We appreciate all your efforts towards the improvement of the infrastructural development of the state. We commend your efforts as we monitor your activities from here.
“We however humbly appeal to you to construct the long-abandoned Oke Onigbin-Isanlu Isin road. Six years ago, you pledged to complete unfinished projects, yet this critical infrastructure remains neglected.
“Started by Late Governor Lawal and later awarded to utilize IFK funds alongside Obo Ayegunle, this 11km road’s abandonment has isolated our town. Even the approved road by your regime releasing the cheque to the contractor through Isanlu Isin to Owa Kajola was redirected to another route, further marginalizing Isanlu Isin.
“We implore you to forgive any perceived wrongdoing and honor your promise. This road and the dilapidated general hospital, serving Isin LGA, are crucial to our people’s well-being, they were constructed by our forefathers using their safe in those olden days.
“As a parting gift, we beg you to prioritize these projects, fulfilling your commitment to not abandon initiatives begun by previous administrations. God bless Your Excellency richly.”
