A non governmental organization operating under the aegis of Sulmar Women and Youth Initiative (formerly called womanifesto) has
undergone an advocacy and sensitization visit in Iponrin community in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara state.
The team led by the Founder and Executive Director of the Foundation, Mrs Baidoh Sulu-Gambari Hammed, engaged the residents of the Iponrin community on the need for the communities to have adequate protection for young girls from all forms of violence and encouraged them to have a good education.
Also charged the people of the community on Importance of good hygienes for adolescent girls.
The group as part of their mission also carried-out a free blood pressure test for the residents of the community.
The founder of the foundation, also seized the opportunity of the outing to appeal to the government at all levels to always give special priority to women and girls when making the budgetary allocations, saying they are very precious to the development of any society and deserved special treatment.
Appreciating the founder of the foundation and her team, the district head of Iponrin, Alhaji Ahmed Musa Amao, lauded the initiative and call on other similar organizations to emulate the impactful gesture of the Sulmar foundation, saying such an apolitical visit is always valuable to the people of the rural communities.
