No fewer than 46 members of the Kwara State Joint National Association for Persons With Disabilities, JONAPWD have benefited from the social intervention of the Gobir Foundation.
Gobir Foundation, founded and financed Waziri Yakubu Gobir, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) governorship candidate in Kwara State, presented the cheques to the beneficiaries on Friday at the Foundation’s office in GRA, Ilorin.
It can also be recalled that during the 2022 International Day of Persons With Disabilities, Gobir foundation pledged the sum of N500,000 to support members of the association.
According to the chairman of JONAPWD, Comr. Yusuf Bashir who was ably represented by the State Coordinator for Albino, Mallam Abdulsalam Kehinde, the empowerment by Gobir Foundation would be able to contribute to the well-being of disabled persons in the country. He further appreciated the Gobir Foundation for standing with the association.
“We have been neglected for a long period but with the efforts of Gobir Foundation we feel a sense of belonging. We are very grateful to the foundation for counting us among the beneficiaries of this unconditional cash support scheme. We pray that God continues to bless the founder of this organization, Alhaji Waziri Yakubu Gobir as we look forward to more of his intervention. He added.
