Gov AbdulRazaq, Emir of Ilorin Commiserates With CAN Over Demise of Bishop Paul Olawoore

The kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has commiserated with the Christian community and leadersip of the Christian Association of Nigeria,(CAN) Kwara State chapter over the demise of its chairman, Bishop Paul Olawoore.

This commiseration was expressed in a separate statements signed by the CPS to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye and spokesperson for Emir, Abdulazeez Arowona respectively.

The CAN chairman died early Saturday at the age of 60.

“It is indeed a painful exit of a prominent clergy who devoted his entire life to the service of God and humanity. He would be missed as a cerebral clergy known for his pursuit of peace and love for all,” the Governor said.

“My profound condolences go to his immediate family, the Catholic family, and the entire Christendom in Kwara State on this sad loss. May the Good Lord grant him rest and comfort the family and the community he left behind.”

According to Emir statement, “No community, nation and socio-economic activities can progress without absolute peace and tranquility among inhabitants of the community. The reign of Bishop Paul Olawoore as Kwara CAN chairman witnessed tremendous unity among the Christian faithful as well as peaceful co-existence with Muslims in the Ilorin Emirate and beyond.

“His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, hereby express his condolence over the colossal loss which befell the state few days ago.

“The emir condole with the widow and the entire families, both immediate and extended left behind by the deceased.

“May God repose the soul of the departed clergyman and give the entire Christian community both in the state and at the national level the grace to cope with the exit of Bishop Olawoore.”
