Former president of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Ben Duntoye has urged the youths in Kwara State to reciprocate Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s gesture to them by voting massively for him in the March 11, 2023 governorship election.
Duntoye, a former commisssioner for Information in the state made the call Ilorin on Tuesday while during an interactive session with leaders of various youth groups and associations ahead of the Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
He also urged the youths to vote for the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state house of assembly elections.
The pan African youth leader asked the youth should to repay AbdulRazaq by canvassing for votes and vote for the governor on Saturday.
“I invited you here today for us to reflect and interact in respect of our dear state. This is an opportunity for us to compare the Kwara of today and that of yesteryears. With available records, you will agree with me that no governor has demostrated support for the youths like Governor AbdulRazaq,” Duntoye said.
He added that, ” as at today, Kwara is adjudged the most youthful friendly state in Nigeria as the governor is aggressively empowering Kwara youths through Kwaraprenuer”.
He praised the governor for employing youths into the public service without consideration political affiliations.
Duntoye said AbdulRasaq has embarked on payment of bursary to Kwara students and improved business opportunities for young traders and artisans in the state, adding that the governor’s cabinet is majorly dominated by the youths.
“We must go back to our respective domains and take this message there. Let our our family and friends know that Governor AbdulRazaq is our father and friend that wants the best for us. So, they must vote for him to continue his good work for the state and the teeming youths,” he added.
“I want to remind us that we are the most productive elements in the society and we constitute the largest percentage of voters.Let’s use our voting strength to vote for an APC controlled State Assembly that would make the job easier for our Governor, we have to go out on Saturday and vote all the APC State House of Assembly candidates,” he counseled.
Responding, Comrade Muktar Akoshile, a formost youth leader commended Duntoye for the invitation and reiterated the youths support for Governor Abdulrasaq.
